At least 155 of 444 Municipalities in Ontario, are advocating for MFIPPA REFORM stating:

“…anonymity is used by requesters to abuse the MFIPPA process and does not align with the spirit of openness and transparency embraced by municipalities”

Advocacy is defined as any action that speaks in favor of, recommends, argues for a cause, supports or defends, or pleads on behalf of others. NOT THEMSELVES!

On whose behalf are these “advocates” wanting to identify persons requesting municipal records? – why?

Should your municipality spend your tax dollars to curtail your Freedom of Information and Privacy rights?

Municipal entities, must not use public funds to undermine citizen freedoms and government policy objectives.

The IPC protects the identity of requestors.

You and I need to speak up against such malvestation of public funds against taxpayer’s!

… more soon.
